OUR Grading SERVICES

Our team of experts has the versatility to meet your Grading needs

Intelligent Grading

We specialize in intellegent grading applications using both global satellite and local millimeter control, allowing for +/- grade tolerences of .02 to .1 feet.

Subgrade

Developing a proper subgrade is key to support all civil sections for your project. TALLCC understands how to build a firm and unyielding subgrade regardless of the geotechnical material being utilized.

Aggregate Road Base

Let TALLCC help with all your aggregate road base (ABC) needs. Our experience subjects you to many options to support your performance and budget needs.

Full-Depth Reclamation

TALLCC offers full-depth reclamation (FDR) as an economical option on many reconstruction project applications. A great way to manufacture an on-site road base product and potentially a means to eliminate export.

CTS-LTS

Cement treated subgrade and lime treated subgrade is a process that converts your insitu subgrade material into a section similar to aggregate road base, allowing for the reduction of imported ABC and HMA products.

Removals (PCC/HMA)

Normally present in all reconstruction or tie in work. TALLCC is familiar with many removal applications including on-site recycling when relevant. We remove both reinforced and non-reinforced existing PCC conditions.

Structure Exc.

TALLCC accounts for both access and competent OSHA practices while performing structural excavation requirements for the construction of cast-in-place (CIP) concrete.

Structure Backfill

The TALLCC ownership has many years of experience in structural backfill, affording our customers mulitiple options to meet both their budget and performance needs.

Rock Slope Protection (RSP)

We have many years of experience in rock slope protection (RSP). Our owners have performed this scope in five states. We have the knowledge to help you with your RSP needs.

Dewatering

Whether it's surface water or subsurface water, our knowledge and experience can help you create a cost-effective design to fit your project performance needs.

Grading FAQs

Why Does Proper Grading Matter?

Site grading is typically first-order work on most projects. It is usually covered up and forgotten when other project layers and surface conditions are added. With this said, grading is the foundation that either promotes or is the demise of project quality, service life, and performance—ultimately leading to success or failure. Every good structure is built on a solid foundation. An appropriately implemented grading with the right team design puts the project on the right path at the point you break ground.

What is Considered Earthwork Grading Scope?

Earthwork grading scope typically encompasses the entire project site area, utilizing the civil engineer's design coupled with the geotechnical engineer's recommendations.

Familiar earthwork grading terms and applications include mass grading, topsoil removal and replacement, compaction requirements, engineered fills, imported materials, subgrade tolerances, minimum and maximum slopes, soil types, structural section definition, aggregate base materials, chemically treated soils or base materials, fine or finish grading, structural excavation, structural backfill, etc.

This is a general statement; many more material and task options are available and considered depending on engineering approach, project complexity, and need.

What Factors Influence Slope Requirements?

Many elements influence both the maximum and minimum slope needs. It starts with the engineer's approach to the design, followed by the owner's project vision or needs. Additionally, it depends on the integration of existing terrain, geotechnical or soil composition, traffic loads, ADA requirements, climate, conforming to adjacent properties, budget, etc.

Why Does TALLCC Grading Enhance Concrete and Asphalt Services

Although grading is the foundationary component, it is also one of the least expensive per cubic yard cost elements of the improved layered surface (eventually to be covered by concrete or asphalt).

By employing TALL Contracting & Consulting, we can improve budgets through cost and efficiency while enhancing quality and schedule. We can perform multiple disciplines simultaneously, performing finish grade tolerances of all material types, allowing us to control the performance narrative.
